Overview

TaskTicker is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data when you use the TaskTicker Chrome extension.

Data Collection

TaskTicker collects and stores the following information:

• Task Data: Your tasks, descriptions, due dates, and completion status
• Settings: Your preferences including theme, ticker speed, position, and display options
• Task Templates: Custom templates you create for recurring tasks
• Archive Data: Completed tasks that you choose to archive
• API Credentials (Optional): If you choose to use the team collaboration features, your API key and username

Data Storage

Your data is stored in two ways:

• Chrome Sync Storage: All your tasks, settings, and preferences are stored locally in Chrome's sync storage, which allows synchronization across your devices when signed into Chrome
• External API (Optional): If you configure the API integration for team features, task data may be transmitted to your configured API endpoint

Data Usage

We use your data exclusively for:

• Displaying your tasks in the ticker interface
• Synchronizing your tasks across your Chrome browsers
• Saving your preferences and settings
• Providing team collaboration features (if API is configured)

Data Security

• All data is stored using Chrome's built-in secure storage APIs
• API credentials are stored encrypted in Chrome's sync storage
• We do not have access to your stored data
• Data transmission to external APIs uses HTTPS encryption

Third-Party Services

TaskTicker may connect to:

• User-configured API endpoints: Only if you explicitly configure an API URL and provide credentials
• No analytics or tracking services are used

Data Sharing

We do not:

• Sell your data to third parties
• Share your data with advertisers
• Track your browsing activity
• Collect analytics or usage statistics

User Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View all your data through the extension interface
• Export: Export your tasks and settings at any time
• Delete: Remove all data by uninstalling the extension or clearing Chrome storage
• Control: Disable Chrome sync to keep data local only

Data Retention

• Active tasks are retained until you delete them
• Archived tasks are retained until you clear the archive
• All data is removed when you uninstall the extension

Children's Privacy

TaskTicker is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
